Rise / Flat / Drop
Measure how a player's performance changes when the postseason begins. Start with that player's regular-season baseline, then compare it with either the entire playoff run or a particular playoff series.
What is this for?
Rise / Flat / Drop does not decide whether a player was “good” or “bad.” It measures how the player's own performance changed from his established regular-season level. Choose a familiar Basic Stat, an Advanced Stat, or an OTTO Metric and analyze the change independently.
HOW TO USE RISE / FLAT / DROP Step-by-step
The Regular Season is always the baseline. For manual analysis, enter the regular-season value and the matching postseason value for the stat you selected.
Select Basic Stats, Advanced Stats, or OTTO Metrics. Each family includes an “All” option that evaluates the available stats separately rather than creating one combined score.
SIGNIFICANT RISE = +5.00% or more; SLIGHT RISE = +2.00% to +4.99%; FLAT = −1.99% to +1.99%; SLIGHT DROP = −2.00% to −4.99%; SIGNIFICANT DROP = −5.00% or worse. The label measures change from the player’s own baseline, not whether the performance was objectively good or bad.
For one series, switch to Manual Entry, choose Individual Playoff Series or Finals Series, add a label, and compare the series value with the regular-season baseline.
Generate an OTTO share card after the values are loaded. Single-stat results are best for a focused argument; the “All” options work as compact dashboards.

OTTO Classification Method
Change % = ((Postseason Value − Regular Season Value) ÷ Regular Season Value) × 100
The regular season is always the baseline. For positive-direction stats: +5.00% or more is a Significant Rise; +2.00% to +4.99% is a Slight Rise; −1.99% to +1.99% is Flat; −2.00% to −4.99% is a Slight Drop; and −5.00% or worse is a Significant Drop. For TOV/G and PF/G, the direction is reversed so decreases are improvements and increases are declines. “All” dashboards do not combine stats into one overall score. For All Basic Stats, total RPG is omitted because ORPG and DRPG are already shown separately; RPG remains available individually. Percentage stats such as FG% use relative percentage change, not percentage-point difference.
